who are the mammoth men?

In the early wintery months of 2008, eight of us, who are celebrated, award-winning and downright awesome photographers from all over the country grabbed our snowboards to ride the mountains of Mammoth, California . This marked the beginning of what is now known as...wait for it...The Mammoth Men. What ensued during that getaway was a week filled with adventure, spontaneity, hijinks and storied tales. A bond was forged amongst us men and a commitment made to doing it again, and doing it often!

During 2008, we, the Mammoth Men hit the road again for two more trips. Only on these trips, we loaded up in a Prevost rock star tour bus.  On the first trip, we headed up the California Coast for five days of ruckus and shared it on our traffic happy blog. With the success of the first trip notched on our belts, we then ventured into the American Southwest documenting an epic amount of glorious insanity.  The blog following continued even after these two trips had ended and garnered much media attention in the blogosphere and in magazine publications.  At the start of 2009, in the fourth, and most recent installment of the Mammoth Men, we bundled up and headed to the greatest snow on earth - Park City, Utah. The Mayhem unfolded as we shacked up in a ginormous cabin and proceeded to melt the faces and snow off of the surrounding inhabitants and terrain as we went snowmobiling, snowboarding, sledding, indoor skydiving, and even got a jeep stuck in the Great Salt Lake! The Utah trip also marked The Mammoth Men’s first contest to raise money for two of our favorite charities! Together with the blog and Twitter followers, we were able to raise over $3000 for charity!

On Mammoth Men 5, we are heading to the mecca of Southern Hospitality - The Dirty South! Join us as we embark on another epic adventure in search of the BBQ-est BBQ, the craziest cajun food, the most lavish plantation, the classiest croquet game, late night cow tipping, and, what was that...sheep riding??? Yep, cause that’s how we roll!

I'm not a baby, I am a man. I am an anchorman!
King Kaiser took his picks with the full size Instax camera.
Being that I'm just a prince, I took these with the Instax Mini. They were all shot on top of my Christian Dior thrift store suit jacket.
Yep, that's right, and I have many leather bound books and an apartment that smells of rich mahogany.

"I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately, I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to put to rout all that was not life and not when I came to die discover that I had not LIVED!" Henry David Thoreau

I now know that you could also insert 'the bayou at sunset' in place of 'the woods' in the above quote.

I've never felt more alive during one of our adventures than I did as the sun said her goodbyes to the world while we sat atop our airboats and watched her fade away...
