There has been much said about yesterday already. It was an interesting start to a long day that ended up amazingly! We finally arrived in Page, Arizona and first headed to Antelope Canyon! |
After cruising through the canyon, where the above photos were taken, Jory, Fred and I headed up to the top of the hill. Here's Jory on the top. |

so we had a slow start this morning..... and what better way to jump start our day with some insanity!!!! We all piled into the "tribal vehicle" [which is code for a janky f-150 with some seats in the back] and headed off road for antelope canyon. we then proceeded to off road at 50 mph. it was sheer awesome.

day 2, in all it's glory. after arriving at Antelope Canyon we were escorted by 2 teenage girls into the desert, in the back of a ford pickup (hearse), at life threatening speeds. afterwards, legendary cliff jumping into Lake Powell. |

MAMMOTH MEN 3 got off to a rockin' good start today via a trip out to tse' bighanilini, also known as antelope canyon. beauty spilled down through the canyon's ceiling as we walked into it's mouth. this images was one of many that steal my breath. god's creation is a beautiful work of art...sculpted, molded and shaped by water, wind and force. justin, jory and i climbed to the top of the canyon and experienced a grand silence i have long gone without. |
amongst all the gorgeous red rock we submerged ourselves in, the truck below served us the ride of our lives delivering us to the canyon. i thought we lost jory at one junction of the bed-slingin'/knee jerkin'/side-windin' fiasco! but alas, he was safely wedged in between two husky MAMMOTH MEN frames. who was responsible for this roller coaster? two teenage girls. figures.
i later overheard them gossiping about how "the 12 guys from the bus" were the most awesome thing that's happened to them today. do you receive license to drive like off-road desert baja racers simply because 12 dudes hop into the back of your truck??? i guess screaming at the top of our lungs didn't do much to infer otherwise. |

our bus ride today was supposed to be no more than 4 hours. but as we arose from our slumber, we discovered that our bus driver took us 4 hours in the wrong direction. OOPS. no matter, we arrived and shot the crap out of antelope canyon - one of the most beautiful places i've been in a long, long time. |

what a day. with the small setback this morning (the 5 hour detour our bus driver took) I wondered if this day was going to live up to the extremely high standards we MAMMOTH MEN have for our days. we arrived in page about 3 o'clock this afternoon and went straight to the antelope canyon, one of the famous slot canyons of the southwest. we boarded a truck driven by two 16 year old girls and proceeded to haul ass through the navajo reservation. we arrived 20 minutes later at the canyon safe but with a new respect for life. here are our drivers. |

after what felt like days of traveling in the 45 foot cacoon of our prevost, larry the driver dropped us off in the middle of the desert. our small herd boarded the bed of a pick-up for a short drive to antelope canyon. little did we know our lives were in jeopardy... |
what you do see: matt sloan having a good time. what you don't see: random berms & dunes approaching at 45+mph. matt sloan fearing for his life... good times. |
